Active Wedding Reception Games
We were all at receptions that are standard for Long Island-we welcome and celebrate the new married couple, watch them dance and enjoy the cake. Some couples often enjoy having fun games that include the whole list of guests.
The inclusion of guests is an excellent way to get people out of their chairs, meet people they might not otherwise know and feel that they are not just observers. " Want it now " is a fun and active game that can be played at wedding receptions.
You appoint a master of ceremonies in this game (if you have a DJ for your wedding reception, this person can serve as a DJ). The MC shall prepare a list of " wishes " before the reception. Everyone is sitting at their tables waiting for the command. Each time a table sends someone to the front first, they get a point.
Points and prizes awarded at the end of the game should be set during this game. Make sure you have some obvious " wishes, " such as painted toenails or a man with a moustache or a pink dressed child.
Another fun wedding reception game with all your guests are music chairs with men as chairs. All the men line up on one knee, kneel down. The women start playing the music chairs, but when the music stops, they have to find a knee to sit there. During the game version, no " chairs " are removed, but people are eliminated if either the man falls when the woman finds her knee or the woman falls. Both are out of the way, and if they both fall down, they are both out of the way (as well as maybe a bit bruised). This is a fun game that often brings on gales of laughter and adds to a relaxed reception atmosphere.
The DJ or MC offers a number of bride and groom related questions. The teams should work together to answer the questions and then provide the answer as soon as possible. The bride and groom will confirm whether or not the answer is correct. This is a great way for otherwise " foreign " guests to meet each other and have fun. It's a great way to meet the bride and groom!
The organization of games at a wedding reception is a great way to involve people and make them feel that they really are part of the celebration. It's also a way to fill time if the wedding planners know that this is not a dancing group or if you want to relax for a long night of celebration.Whether a wedding is small or big, reception games work for just about every group. Also, do not assume that wedding guests are offended or disturbed by these active games. Most people report to marriage planners that they really like to be more active and to have fun playing during a wedding.
